People wishing to participate in the second annual environmental-oriented BaseCamp Feastival ( http://web.me.com/benreel/Feastival/Welcome.html / http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=148240631861707&ref=ts )
that is slated for Sept. 17-19th need to RSVP by this coming Friday, Sept. 10th, so organizers will have some idea how much food to bring for the event's Main Course dinner.
Please RSVP on or before this coming Friday to: idahobasecamp37@gmail.com .
The event, which takes place some 25 miles out Trail Creek Road (and five miles past the Copper Base turnout) will, like last year's first well-attended one, feature a variety of terrific live music (courtesy of local faves Sheryll Mae Grace, Ethan Tucker & the Grassroot All-Stars, Old Death Whisper/The Damphools, Cow Says Mooo, The Unbroken Chains, and Toast), food, dancing, yoga (on Saturday and Sunday morning, at 10 a.m.), fishing camps, hiking and biking, and other assorted activities that will celebrate the physical and spiritual beauty of nature in all its many forms.
Proceeds raised from the event will go toward the creation of a new Idaho non-profit, Idaho BaseCamp (a premier environmental eco-retreat center), that Feastival organizer (and former Plum-TV producer) Whitney McNees and co-organizer Mathew Gershater are fervently hoping to start later this year.
Participants wishing to stay both nights there will have to do so via camping of one sort or another, but there is one yurt that's currently available at the BaseCamp site (sleeps six in beds, with two on the floor); $200 for both nights or $125 for one.
Participants are likewise responsible for bringing their own silverware, plates, cups, lunch and breakfast items, and for bringing a dish to the sit-down dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Tickets are $40 for both nights, $25 for one (including one night's camping).
Make checks payable to Idaho BaseCamp, POB 183, Ketchum 83340.
Contact idahobasecamp37@gmail.com if you're interested in making a tax-deductible donation to help with its creation.
